PSE Residential Rebates 2012
Ductless heat pump (1.0 ton minimum) “Mini Splits”: $1,200
Select qualifications:
Equipment must be AHRI certified, use inverter technology and be a minimum of 1.0 ton in heating mode
Must use electric resistance heat as primary heating source which includes electric zonal (baseboard, cable, wall heater), electric hydronic or electric forced-air furnace
Must install at least one unit in the main living area of the home. Equipment only installed in a bedroom is not eligible
Cannot have an existing heat pump or natural gas service, even if only used for cooking
Forced-air furnace to air-source heat pump conversion: $1,500
Select qualifications:
Pre-approval required. Must submit additional form to PSE and receive pre-approval prior to installation. Download the pre-approval application.
Must have an existing electric forced-air furnace and upgrade to an AHRI performance certified air-source heat pump with a 8.5 HSPF and 14 SEER or higher
Cannot have an existing heat pump, including a ductless heat pump, or a gas furnace or gas boiler. Electric zonal customers are not eligible
Auxiliary heating sources do not qualify for an additional rebate
Air-source heat pump:
- 8.5 HSPF/14 SEER $200
- 9.0 HSPF/14 SEER $350
- 10.0 HSPF/16 SEER $800
Select qualifications:
Equipment must be AHRI performance certified
Customers who do not qualify for the ductless heat pump or electric FAF to heat pump conversion rebates can qualify for this rebate if equipment meets efficiency requirements
Auxiliary heating sources do not qualify for additional rebates
Heat pump sizing and lock-out control: $300
ENERGY STAR qualified forced-air furnace (95% AFUE): $250
Select qualifications
Must install ENERGY STAR qualified equipment with a 95 percent AFUE rating or better
Must be the primary source of heat. Cannot be installed with a new or existing heat pump. If installed with a heat pump, the heat pump qualifications govern.
Fireplace: $200
Select qualifications:
Natural gas from PSE must be the primary heat source in home
Equipment must meet Canadian P4 FE of 70 percent or better, be direct vent and have electronic ignition. A list of all qualifying fireplace models is found at PSE.com/Rebates
Equipment must be installed in main living area of the home. Bedroom installations are not eligible
Can be combined with other space heating rebate
ENERGY STAR qualified heat pump water heater: $500
Select qualifications:
Must install ENERGY STAR qualified equipment
Must be installed outside the conditioned living space such as a garage, attic or crawl space
Storage water heater (.94 energy factor or higher): $50
Select qualifications:
Must be a minimum of 50-gallon rated capacity
Indirect water heaters do not qualify
Converting to Natural Gas: Fuel Conversion Rebate
- Home and water heating: $1,950 to $3,950
- Home heating only: $500 to $2,500
- Water heating only: $950
Qualifications:
Applies to existing single-family properties (including manufactured) or individually-metered attached housing with four units or less
Applicant must be a PSE electric customer currently using electricity as a primary source of home and/or water heating
Rebate is subject to 12 - month prior electric usage requirements, as determined by PSE
Applicant must install ENERGY STAR® qualified natural gas home and/or water heating equipment (fireplaces are not eligible)
Applicant is ineligible for home heating rebate if a hybrid system and/or heat pump is installed in conjunction with natural gas equipment or if existing heat pump remains on the premises
Must install to comply with all federal, state and local code requirements
Rebate form must be submitted within 30 days of fuel and equipment conversion
Other requirements may apply.

Select qualifications:
-Natural gas furnace installed with any new or existing heat pump is not eligible
-Cannot have an existing furnace with 90 percent AFUE rating or better
Fireplace rebate
$200
For a qualifying high-efficiency natural gas fireplace install.
Select qualifications:
-Equipment must meet Canadian P4 FE of 70 percent or better.
-Equipment must be installed in main living area of the home. Bedroom installations are not eligible
Forced-air furnace to air-source heat pump conversion rebate
$1500
Get a $1,500 rebate from PSE when you replace your electric forced-air furnace with a qualifying air-source heat pump.
Select qualifications:

-Rebate is subject to the current minimum annual electric usage requirements, as determined by PSE
-Applicant must install ENERGY STAR qualified natural gas home and/or water heating equipment (fireplaces are not eligible)
-Applicant is ineligible for home heating rebate if a hybrid system and/or heat pump is installed in conjunction with natural gas equipment or if existing heat pump remains on the premises
-Applicant is responsible for complying with all applicable codes and regulations
-Rebate form must be submitted within 90 days of fuel and equipment conversion
